I'm at a stage of my life where my actions are scrutinized and I find that there are those lurking in dark corners waiting for me to slip up.
I'm also at that stage where I'm trying not to doubt myself in what I can do (particularly in my role as President of the Tongan students Association) - just because someone else is a more elaborate, charismatic speaker does not mean I have to try be one to. I've learnt (just now) that all I should do in trust in the Lord and never lose hope.
“My message to you today, my brothers and sisters, is simply this: the Lord is in control. He knows the end from the beginning. He has given us adequate instruction that, if followed, will see us safely through any crisis. His purposes will be fulfilled, and someday we will understand the eternal reasons for all of these events. Therefore, today we must be careful to not overreact, nor should we be caught up in extreme preparations; but what we must do is keep the commandments of God and never lose hope!”
- M. Russell Ballard, “The Joy of Hope Fulfilled,” Ensign, Nov. 1992, 31
May we never lose hope and continue trusting in the one who 'knows the end from the beginning'. In all thine ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your path.
Sincerely Yours,
- E

He Is Reachable Any Time and Any Place
“Access to our Creator through our Savior is surely one of the great privileges and blessings of our lives. I have learned from countless personal experiences that great is the power of prayer. No earthly authority can separate us from direct access to our Creator. There can never be a mechanical or electronic failure when we pray. There is no limit on the number of times or how long we can pray each day. There is no quota of how many needs we wish to pray for in each prayer. We do not need to go through secretaries or make an appointment to reach the throne of grace.
He is reachable at any time and any place.”
James E. Faust, “The Lifeline of Prayer,” Ensign, May 2002, 5

FlashForward
is the name of a tv-show I just watched on TV & basically it's about a massive blackout that happens in America (of course lol) which causes each person to see a snippet of their future 6 months from now (or the time of the blackout).
That kinda made me think what my 'FlashForward' would look like. What would I be doing? Would I be dating someone? Would I have stable income i.e. a job? Would I be 20kgs lighter?
Then it made me think about my Patriarchal blessing (that I'm anticipating to receive in the mail woohoo) and how that is kind of like my 'FlashForward' but not of 6 months from now, but of my life.
For those of you that don't know, a Patriarchal Blessing is a special blessing given to us from our Heavenly Father via a Patriarch (who has the authority from God to do so) and it contains a whole lot of blessings we will receive, dependent on our faith and obedience to receive them.
So, in saying that, what would you want your FlashForward of your life to look like? Where do you see yourself not only in 6 months but in 1 year? In 5 years? 10?
If you knew that a loving Father in Heaven saw so much potential in you and had an awesome life planned out for you, would you want to know what HE sees?
It's definitely humbled me & has made me stop looking back, because I, for one, was number one culprit in letting my past dictate my future. So, just like they say in "Meet the Robinsons", lets:
Keep Moving Forward :)
Sincerely Yours,
- E

Today ..
I decided I wanted to become an Editor.
Although I don't read as many books as I should, or write as many blogs as I should, I find that my grammatical skills quite good. (That's so blowing my own trumpet). It's actually not that great - but I find myself correcting a lot of sentences these days. (I wish teenagers spelled properly! Literacy should be the new cool. Think of it - a campaign saying "Literacy iz da nu cool"! My stomach just turned, thanks).
Yesterday I wanted to start a child-care business starting with my own nephews - i.e. making up creative activities for the under-5. That changed when I went to my 4-year old nephew's birthday party last night, there were too many hyperactive kids. It made me tired.
Sunshine word(s) for today: Think positive.
(That's what I keep thinking as a young woman in her mid-20's who is still studying and looking for - and needing - paid work. Any takers? I can spell; have good grammar; good hygiene; and can think of a great new campaign targeting illiterate teenage youth! Think about it..)
Sincerely Yours,
- E
